Hello, hope all is well.
On Saturday, December 17, 2011 was the first AngelaCARES, Inc. volunteer workshop given to the children of Uneeek Inspiration and Miss Chevonne Class of Etiquette at the Mary Bethune Center located in Jersey City, NJ. It is truly an honor to have Arelius Ingram, Antonio Campbell, and Janice Tamika Grant embrace AngelaCARES, Inc.’s mission. As you may already know, one of the projects of AngelaCARES, Inc. is Joining Our Youth & Seniors (JOYS).
AngelaCARES, Inc. – Joining Our Youth & Seniors (JOYS) project is a direct response to educating and empowering the youth to volunteer. In addition, this project is a direct response to the current and growing senior population who need help living life to the fullest. The goal of the project is to educate youth on volunteering, use their volunteer skills to help seniors, and help the youth build their character with the help of our seniors. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goal remains the same; empower the youth to make a positive change in his/her life.
One aspect of this project is to educate the youth about volunteering. I was so thrilled and excited to talk to the youth about volunteering. This workshop was not about me just talking to the youth about volunteering. It was also about listening to the youth. We spent 45 minutes conversing about the meaning of volunteering and who can volunteer. This was the first part of the workshop and I was happy that the youth had no problems engaging in the conversation. The kids asked many great questions and received the information that I shared with them very well. Additionally, I would like to thank Antonio, Tamika, Shawn, and Keisha for their participation.
If you would like your child to learn about volunteering and join the AngelaCARES Inc.’s JOYS project, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 888.795.8819.
